A nice winter day. I’m
hoping it will warm up enough to melt the snow.
During the football
season I really believed that the Broncos had a very good chance to play at
Super Bowl 60. The Patriots ended that belief on Sunday. I am disappointed but
still a Bronco fan.
For much of the last
decade I have been using a CPAP machine. Mostly because I live at 7000’ and I
night I don’t get enough oxygen. I’ve been with the same company from the
beginning. Up until about 6 months ago, they would call me every 3 months to
say they had my new supplies. When they stopped auto-fill, I called their main
office in Cottonwood. The lady told me that the company believed the customer
should have more control over the supplies and without notification, stopped
doing auto-fill. Last Monday, it was time for new supplies, so I called. She
said they would have to be ‘ordered’. I called the local office today to see
where my supplies were. They checked and said it can take up to two weeks to
get the supplies. This company must be in serious financial trouble, as these
supplies are needed by every CPAP customer they have.
For the last 3 years
or so I have had Crystal cut my hair. I called for an appointment this morning and
they said she no longer worked there. Bummer. I’ll see what happens when I get
my hair cut tomorrow morning.
The shooting of the ICU
nurse in MN is staying in the headlines. After seeing way too many videos of
the incident, I want everyone to work together to have an unbiased
investigation into the incident. When that is complete, tell us everything the report
has. The administration’s idea that you have must give access to various agency
files and then we will pull out is comparing apples to oranges and should not
be part of the conversation.

Hippos Are The Deadliest
Mammals
Lions, rhinos, and even elephants are all deadly in their
own right. When you think of their teeth, horns, tusks, or size, you might
guess that any one of them was the deadliest animal in Africa. Instead, that
trophy goes to the hippopotamus. Not only are hippos the deadliest animals on
that continent, but they're the deadliest mammals in the world (aside from humans).
It's estimated hippos kill around 500 humans every year, nearly twice the number of victims lions might claim. Although they are herbivores, hippos are known to attack when they feel threatened - such as when a human is in their territory. With lower canines that can grow more than a foot long, it's no wonder that one bite is all that's needed to kill a human.
