Today’s Thoughts
A bit more windy
than I like, but I’m enjoying the clear blue sky.
I recently read that
Lake Powell is at 27% capacity with 3540’…noting that at 3490’ it will no
longer to produce electricity. This could cause trouble for many who receive electricity
from the dam, including California.
I have lived through
many Presidents leading our country. This was the first, and hopefully last
time, I see the President of the United States flip the bird to a protester. How
juvenile.
Trump sure keeps the
world guessing: He sends thousands ICE agents to American cities to stop
protests that he perceives are against him. Then he tells the protesters in
Iran to keep it up and the US is behind them and will protect them.
I just heard that
the FBI searched a Washington Post reporter’s home and took at least one
computer. Is this Freedom of the Press.2026? I sure hope not.
Origin of common phrases
Upper hand
The phrase "upper hand" comes from
determining which team bats first in playground baseball games. Opposing team
captains would grasp a bat, starting at the bottom, and alternate their hands
until reaching the top. The player holding the bat at the top had the upper
hand.
