My Rambling Thoughts
Great lunch with our retirement group. Caught up on all the things that have happened.
After our time in Dijon, it is off to Paris. City tour was very good. Our hotel was within two blocks of the Eifel Tower. We couldn’t see it from our rooms, but a short walk out of the hotel and there it was in all its glory. Walked over there three different times. Awesome during the day, spectacular at night.  We spent time at the Louvre and could have spent days. Our guide had an amazing knowledge of the paintings…who, what, where, and why. Learned about and saw the Mona Lisa. As many know it is much smaller than first expected. The reason…it was a private home painting and was therefore the size of portraits one would place in their home. The stories of the paintings really brought them to life. Our trip is ending and we head out to the De Gaulle airport…talk about a huge airport. We made it through unscathed. I have to say there were 11 of us and 5 got wheelchairs, due to the long walks and to get someone to take us to our gate. I walked with at 83 year old great woman. When we got to customs, the lady pushing her asked for her passport and her husband’s passport. Little did we know that somewhere along the line we had gotten married. Good laugh for all of us, and worth it at both De Gaulle and JFK. We ended our ‘marriage’ at DIA baggage claim and headed to our respective homes.
Tumlare and Focus did another great job.
I have had my CPAP machine for two nights. I seem to be sleeping fine, but wake up about 5:30a and am still tired. I take off the headgear and sleep to about 7a. The machine guy called and said that this is normal and should end in a couple more days. Sure hope so. I hate waking up groggy.

A Tired Hunter

A tired hunter out in the wilds stumbled into a camp. “Am I glad to see you!” he said. “I’ve been lost for three days.”

“Don’t get too excited, friend,” the other hunter replied. “I’ve been lost for three weeks.”

Yep, It Really Happened
*-- Daredevils Get an Eiffel of the Parasites --*

A pair of daredevils skipped the elevators at the Eiffel Tower in Paris and climbed to the top of the structure while filming their ascent. The video, posted to YouTube, shows the two men purchase tickets to visit the Eiffel Tower at night while it is illuminated and sneak away from the other tourists to climb the structure's stairs. The men dodge CCTV cameras and security officers before moving from the stairs to the steel girders to make their way to near the top of the tower. A drone helped film the men as they approached the dizzying heights of the tower's summit. The uploader said the video was filmed in June amid high winds that made piloting the drone difficult. "The poor drone operator not only crashed the drone but also received a pretty big fine," the post said. British daredevil James Kingston climbed the Eiffel Tower in November of last year and were arrested when they were discovered by security. Kingston said he was released without charges when he promised not to try to climb the tower again for at least three years.

Somewhat Useless Information
Between 10-12 percent of people on earth are "lefties." Women are more likely to be right-handed than men by about 4 percentage points.

Tests conducted by St. Lawrence University in New York found that there were more left-handed people with IQs over 140 than right-handed people. Famous left-handed intellectuals include Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and Benjamin Franklin.

The word left in English comes from the Anglo-Saxon word lyft, which means weak or broken. The Oxford English Dictionary defines left-handed as meaning crippled, defective, awkward, clumsy, inapt, characterized by underhanded dealings, ambiguous, doubtful, questionable, ill-omened, inauspicious, and illegitimate.

Even the word "dexterity" shows a right-handed bias. The term dexter means "right" and refers to being "right-handed" on both sides.

Portugal's 1-0 win was nothing short of a miracle given that in their previous 10 meetings -- France had won all of them. Trés Bummer! Source: CNN
