My Rambling Thoughts
Quiet Sunday after a very late night on
Netflix. They sure have some great shows…easy to binge watch
Sure enjoyed watching Obama and family in
Cuba. Lots of sites I have visited in Havana. So glad he has worked so hard to
open relations. So fortunate I was able to travel there twice with Tumlare and
Focus.

Brain Teasers
(answers at the end of post)
Curtail E
Language brain teasers are those
that involve the English language. You need to think about and manipulate words
and letters.
Difficulty:
|
|
When you curtail a word, you remove
the last letter and still have a valid word. You will be given clues for the
two words, longer word first.
Example: Begin -> Heavenly body
Answer: The words are Start and Star.
1. Evergreen tree -> Thin, pointed piece of metal
2. Burning process -> Evergreen tree
3. Gaze intently -> Heavenly body
4. Subject; unifying idea -> Those people
5. Money paid for work -> Move from side to side
6. Soft-surfaced leather -> Took to court
7. Harsh; extreme -> To cut off
8. To bring together -> A single thing

…Why the Chicken Crossed The Road…
BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a
few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the
heartwarming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on
to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.

(CHRIS PARKER, CORBIS). Derry
Northern Ireland's Derry (officially Londonderry) is the best-preserved walled
town on the island of Ireland and is one of the finest examples of a walled
city in Europe. Completed in 1618, the walls are up to 26 feet high and 35 feet
thick in spots with watchtowers and cannons. A one-mile guided tour atop the
walls tells the early history of the city, as well as the later violence during
“the Troubles,” which are widely regarded as getting their start in Derry
in the late 1960s. You can see down into the Bogside, a Catholic neighborhood
where a mural proclaims, “You are now entering Free Derry.”

Yep, It Really Happened
*-- I Thought This Only Happened in the Movies --*
WAYNE, N.J. - An armored truck in New Jersey
dropped a bag full of money on a local highway, stopping traffic as bills were
strewn about the road. A bag of cash fell out of a Guarda truck headed west on
Route 46 in Wayne, N.J. A passing truck then struck the bag, causing bills to
fly into the air. Witness Paul Redman said that the bills were spread all
across the roadway as traffic came to a stop. "Take a look up and I see
massive amounts of money flying down the highway," he said. "So I
walk out a little further and you can see it's just $20 bills all over the
place." The driver and several civilians attempted to scoop up the loose
bills, but police said only some returned the money. It's unclear how much
money was lost or how the bag fell out of the truck, but Redman said it seemed
the truck's back door flew open.

All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’
info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other
source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the
information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult
to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted
[1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
