My Rambling Thoughts
Yesterday was very busy. I had my weekly
shopping and then Mary decided that she would rather do lunch Wed as Cheryl is
sick with a cold. By the time I got home I was too lazy to do the blog.
Today is still a little chilly and windy…can’t
wait for spring to return to our little mountain town.
I did some quick run arounds today, but only
made a few stops, the wind was too chilly for my taste…more tomorrow when the
wind stops.
I hope that everyone heard the abortion thing
by the GOP front-runner. Very scary, and can’t be pulled back. This is 2016,
not 1816.

Yep, It Really Happened
*-- Man Appears In Court In Spider-Man Costume --*
Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider
can, if that included kicking tourists for not giving him a tip. This
particular web-slinger, Abdelamine el-Khezzani, is the kind of Spider-Man who
gives the costumed characters who stalk Times Square in New York a bad name.
For the second time in months he appeared in court for assault charges. This
time it was for kicking a Virginia woman who wouldn't tip him after he posed
for pictures with her kids. el-Khezzani said that he told Rodney Merrill and
Margaretta Patman that he worked for tips, but after the pics were snapped and
the tourists attempted to walk away, that is when Spidey got aggressive.
el-Khezzani wore his Spidey costume to court where Justice Laura Ward told him,
"Have you heard the expression 'Three strikes and you're out'? If you come
to the plate and you strike out a third time, you're out" Ward warned
el-Khezzani that if he is arrested again, "bail will be set so high that
you won't be able to get out." Outside the Manhattan Criminal Court
building el-Khezzani struck a Spider-Man pose for cameras and told a reporter
that he was innocent. It is not reported whether he asked the reporter for a
tip after his picture was taken.

The earliest known types of knitting
by nomadic people in the desert places of North Africa actually used circular
or narrow, oblong wooden frames.
One of the earliest known examples of knitting (formed on two sticks by pulling
loops through loops) were a pair of cotton socks found in Egypt from the first
millennium A.D.
The knitting machine was invented in 1589 (during the reign of Queen Elizabeth)
by William Lee, a clergyman. After the invention of the knitting machine,
knitting was gradually taken over by guild-organized cottage industries in the
17th and 18th centuries.
Knitting first appeared in England during the 13th century in the form of
felted caps that were worn by soldiers and sailors. However, knitting did not
become a popular method for creating other garments due to the difficulty of
producing quality steel needles
Early knitting needles were typically made from bone, ivory, or tortoise shell.
Changes in fashion in the late 1980s and early 1990s, as well as the huge
influx of cheap imported knitwear, led to decreased interest in knitting. The
cost of buying yarn compared unfavorably to buying ready-made clothes.

their rent. However, most other countries actually make restaurants pay their
employees. Tipping is baffling across most of Europe, for instance.
