My Rambling Thoughts
Nice day here. Excited that one of our council
people will be running against our current Mayor. He is way to business
oriented with little care about people. The lady running against him is much
more people oriented. Wish her luck.
Did some running around this morning. Found
some good stuff. Disheartened that Sam’s Club didn’t ask for my pin…again.
Since my problems before Christmas, this is the first time they haven’t asked
for the pin. I guess I have to get cash back or something to put in my pin.

2 jokes for the day
Good News and the Bad News -
This poor man is facing surgery on both his feet because of severe wounds. The doctor has warned him that he cannot tell how bad the damage is until he gets him in the operating room and he has prepared the man for the worst.
After surgery, the man is slowly waking up and he sees the surgeon approaching his bed. The doc looks at him and says, "I have good news news and I have bad news - which would you like first?"
The man nervously responds, "Give me the bad news first." The doc says, "I had to take both your feet"
"Oh my, what could possibly be the good news?" says the man.
"The guy in the bed next to you wants to buy your slippers!"

A fellow had just been hired as the
new CEO of a large high tech corporation. The CEO who was stepping down met
with him privately and presented him with three numbered envelopes.
"Open these if you run up against a problem you don't think you can solve," he said.
Well, things went along pretty smoothly, but six months later, sales took a downturn and he was really catching a lot of heat. About at his wit's end, he remembered the envelopes. He went to his drawer and took out the first envelope. The message read, "Blame your predecessor."
The new CEO called a press conference and tactfully laid the blame at the feet of the previous CEO. Satisfied with his comments, the press and Wall Street responded positively, sales began to pick up and the problem was soon behind him.
About a year later, the company was again experiencing a slight dip in sales, combined with serious product problems. Having learned from his previous experience, the CEO quickly opened the second envelope. The message read, "Reorganize."
This he did, and the company quickly rebounded. After several consecutive profitable quarters, the company once again fell on difficult times. The CEO went to his office, closed the door and opened the third envelope. The message said, "Prepare three envelopes.".

Yep, It Really Happened
They Take Their Shovels Seriously in
New Jersey
You never rub another man's rhubarb and you
don't touch another woman's snow shovel. At least not in Newark. And not after
a 2-foot snowfall. According to Newark police, a 38-year-old victim told
officers he found a shovel on the ground outside a neighbor's home. As he dug
away at the snow, however, he was confronted by a female neighbor who claimed
the shovel belonged to her. The man returned the shovel, but while walking back
to his home, he was again accosted by the woman and three men, one of whom
pointed a gun at the victim's head. At the woman's command, the assailant fired
a single shot at the victim, striking him in the buttocks. The victim attempted
to grab the gun, but was struck in the mouth by a second woman during the ensuing
struggle. He then fled back to his home, while the group of attackers fled in a
vehicle. There is no report of what happened to the shovel.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is
usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every
site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites
simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring
before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally
accurate.
