My Rambling Thoughts
Great lunch with our retirement group. It’s been since just before Christmas since we last met. Lots of catching up on family events. All is pretty good for all concerned.
Our HOA did not clean any sidewalks during our last storm—all 30+” of it. We all helped each other out and did it, but it is wrong. Called the HOA this morning. She returned my call to say that she had notified them and that they would be out to get rid of the snow. Since there are areas with lots of ice this is good news. I called her back to thank her and she told me ‘the crew’ is out there right now. I laughed and said no they are not and they didn’t come during the storm at all. She is checking into it and will be doing a walk through tomorrow to see what is going on. Sometimes the squeaky wheel does get the grease.

Brain Teasers
(answers at the end of post)
Watchman
Once there was a night watchman who had been caught several times sleeping on the job. The boss issued the final warning. On the next night he was caught with his head on his hand and his elbows on the desk.
"Aha, I've caught you again," exclaimed the boss. The watchman's eyes popped open immediately and he knew what had happened. Being a quick thinking man, he said one word before looking up at the boss. The boss apologized profusely and went home. What was the one word?

2 jokes for the day

An angry customer and an apologetic Domino’s Pizza:
Customer: Yo, I ordered a Pizza and it came with no toppings on it or anything, Its just plain bread!
Domino’s: We’re extremely sorry to hear about this.
Customer (minutes later): Never mind, I opened the pizza upside down!

Two guys are walking through a game park & they come across a lion that has not eaten for days.

The lion starts chasing the two men. They run as fast as they can and the one guy starts getting tired and decides to say a prayer, "Please turn this lion into a Christian, Lord."

He looks to see if the lion is still chasing and he sees the lion on its knees. Happy to see his prayer answered, he turns around and heads towards the lion.

As he comes closer to the lion, he hears it saying a prayer: "Thank you Lord for the food I am about to receive."

Yep, It Really Happened
This story might sound familiar, but a woman in Florida has been arrested on a charge of child neglect after allegedly abandoning her son because she didn't want him anymore. Daytona Beach police said that they have arrested 34-year-old Jennifer Cael for child neglect and resisting arrest. Officers who arrived at the scene, were greeted by a security guard, who said that Cael abandoned her son. The officers found the boy in good health and eating a cookie. Cael was found naked and under the influence of alcohol. She refused to tell the officers her name and punched one of them in the chest. She then urinated on them. I'd love to know exactly how that happened. A Department of Children and Families worker took custody of the boy.

Somewhat Useless Information
David Bowie had anisocoria, or two eyes with unequally sized pupils. He developed the condition in his left eye after he and a friend got into a fight over a girl when they were 14. The altercation left him with a dilated pupil. He underwent two eye surgeries after the conflict, but his left pupil remained permanently open.

He was born Robert David Jones. Bowie changed his stage name to David Bowie in 1965 after failed attempts at success with the professional name Davy Jones. The switch was also fueled by an attempt to distinguish himself from Davy Jones of the American rock band The Monkees. It's said he chose the last name Bowie after the popularized knife.

He had many alter egos. The most popular of Bowie's alter egos was Ziggy Stardust, a glittery and flamboyant character that emerged in 1972. He was also known as Aladdin Sane and the Thin White Duke.

"Blackstar" was released on his 69th birthday, just two days before his death. The album includes seven songs and has been well received by critics. Producer Tony Visconti described the album as Bowie's "parting gift."

In 1998, Bowie told Vanity Fair his most prized possessions were, "a photograph held together by cellophane tape of Little Richard that (he) bought in 1958 and a pressed and dried chrysanthemum picked on (his) honeymoon in Kyoto."

He had a tattoo on his left calf. The tattoo depicts a man riding a dolphin. A frog rests on the man's left hand. The tattoo also includes a Japanese translation of the serenity prayer. "(It's) a confirmation of the love I feel for my wife and my knowledge of the power of life itself," Bowie said of the tattoo.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
