My Rambling Thoughts
Blood draw went much better than expected after a one week break. My body continues to drop the RBC, even without a draw. Last draw was 59%, today, after missing 6 days was 56%. Nice, seems my body is working to fix this mess. Maybe this will be able to stop soon.
Started out with rain and overcast sky. Cleared up a lot, and warmed up, turning into to a decent day.
I saw Hillary’s comment of Trump, when she said ‘…off the reservation…’. I was saddened that in 2016 so many politicians are so unaware by this racist remark from the 1800’s. Even more saddened when Trump called her on it and used the phrase ‘Indians have gone wild’ and saying all men should be offended.  The term she used  is a highly offensive saying referring to American Indians that have left the reservation. Especially since during my career on the Navajo Nation, we were supposed to be teaching the children that they need an education to have a choice to stay on the rez or to leave the rez and assimilate into the mass culture. …fed up with politicians…
Started reading the Cuba articles for our discussion group on Saturday. Still need to learn a lot about our neighbor. My pre-Castro Cuba history is still very sparse.

2 jokes for the day
A grandma lovingly gives her granddaughter a kiss on the cheek upon seeing her at a family get-together. Afterwards, she noticed the little girl wiping her cheek.

“Are you wiping off my kiss?” she asked.

“No”, she smartly replied, somewhat embarrassed but quick on her feet, “I’m just rubbing it in!”

Two men are in a truck driving around with a penguin. Noticing the penguin, a traffic cop stops the truck driver and tells him to take this animal to a zoo right away. The next day, the same cop sees the same two men in the same truck with the same penguin again.

He stops them and says, "Didn't I tell you guys to take this animal to a zoo yesterday?"

The driver replies, "We did officer! We are taking him to the movies today."

Somewhat Useless Information
Sugar threatens more than thin waistlines. It has also been associated with several conditions and diseases, including type 2 diabetes, arthritis, acne, heart disease, depression, thrush/yeast infections, and cancer.
***
Worldwide, people consume 500 extra calories a day from sugar, which is roughly the amount of calories needed to gain a pound a week.
***
A 15.2 oz. bottle of Minute Maid 100 percent Apple Juice contains 49 grams of sugar. This is about the same amount of sugar in 10 Oreos. While sugar occurs naturally in fruit, the body processes both types of sugar in the same way. One benefit of eating whole fruit is eating fiber, which is generally lost in the process of making juice.
***
According to brain scans, sugar is as addictive as cocaine.
***
Two hundred years ago, the average American ate only 2 pounds of sugar a year. In 1970, Americans ate 123 pounds of sugar per year. Today the average American consumes almost 152 pounds of sugar in one year. This is equal to 3 pounds (or 6 cups) of sugar consumed in one week.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
