╬My
Rambling Thoughts╬
Trying to figure out why I
wear my CPAP machine religiously every night and still my hemoglobin count went
up. Called the tech who services the machine. He says I have a ‘smart machine’
that figures out how much air pressure to send. Since my real problem is not
sleep apnea, he suggest turning off the ‘smart’ feature so that I always get
the same amount of pressure. Will try to talk to the nurse or doctor today when
I go in today for the blood draw.
It must be really hard to
talk out of both sides of your mouth continually. First the Repubs say that
they expect a vote on healthcare before the 4th of July recess. Then
today, as everyone sees the Senate bill for the first time, many in the Senate Repubs
are saying ‘this is a first draft’ and major revisions are expected. And then the White House stepped back to the
1940’s by holding a press briefing with only audio. So much fun and yet so hard
to keep up.
And then the tweet that
there are no WH tapes of the president talking to Comey. Crazy is as crazy
does.

╬Yep,
It Really Happened╬
*--------------- Holy
guacamole! ---------------*
It takes a lot of patience to steal $300,000 20 bucks at a time, but a trio of
avocado factory workers (of all things) managed to do just that. The suspects,
Joseph Valenzuela, 38, Carlos Chavez, 28, and Rahim Leblanc, 30, were employees
of the Mission Produce ripening plant in Ventura County, CA. Investigators said
they believe the suspects were stealing the avocados over the course of several
months and selling them on the side for their own profit to unsuspecting
customers. Company officials said the trio got the opportunity when they
stopped permitting customers from picking up avocado orders, instead delivering
them. But some customers continued to travel to the distribution center. The
suspects sold the customers the avocados, but then pocketed the cash. Police
said the trio sold the avocados, usually about $50 per box, for $20 to keep the
unsuspecting customers from asking questions. Investigators believe they were
responsible for thousands of illegal transactions. Eventually, it was one of
those customers who alerted the company last month something seemed amiss.

╬Somewhat
Useless Information╬
The flag didn't always
have 13 stripes. In 1794, two extra stars and stripes were added to honor
Kentucky and Vermont joining the Union. More than 20 years later - after
concerns about having to keep adding stars and stripes - it was officially
decided to just have 13 stripes (but to keep adding stars whenever another
state joined).
The current star pattern on the flag was designed in 1958 by then 17-year-old
student Robert G. Heft for a history project. The design was ultimately
submitted to Congress and accepted by President Eisenhower.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with
at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes
and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is
therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian
calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
