❆❆My Rambling Thoughts❆❆
Yesterday caught me off guard with my computer. A site I have been visiting for years for this post suddenly took me somewhere else, then a pop-up said that my computer was infected and that if I closed that pop-up my computer would be unable to get on line. It gave me a number to call. I didn’t as panic set in and I called my IT people. They got onto my computer and checked. It was all a scam, but took over 2 hours to get rid of the pop-up and check my computer for any other problems. Luckily there were none. What a shock.

While they worked on my computer, I dug my vehicle out of the berm left by the snowplow. That took about an hour. I really like having 4 seasons, and usually don’t mind the snow, but the 3’ we have gotten in the past six days has left me ready for winter to end.

Today I ventured out and got stuff done. Still can’t get my mail, as there is a 4’ berm that I don’t want to navigate to get to the damn box. Not sure the mailman is even delivering. The parking lot at Sam’s and Fry’s each have about an inch of ice/snow, but I got what I needed. Carts even did well with stuff going back to my car, as the ice/snow hasn’t started melting yet.

Before I left, I have a neighbor who is 50 something and usually uses a cane. She came home from work about 9a, but sat in her pick-up because it was too icy for her to get out. When I went out about 9:30 to warm up my car, I saw her. I asked her if she wanted help getting inside. She was very grateful as she held tightly to my arm as we traversed the parking lot and sidewalk to get her to her front door. She lives with her nephews, but all of them had gone to work. Glad I could help.

Just shaking my head when I listen to the news. We have never had a President who tells so many lies that are proven to be lies by the media. Very upset over a couple of his executive orders from yesterday…first the EPA one, then the Pipeline one. How can anyone believe that letting Canada send oil sludge across many states to the Gulf so they can sell it to China is a good idea? On top of that the Standing Rock Tribe does not want it through their land for fear of leaks that will destroy everyone’s water supply.  This craziness is not what America is or should be about. Just as we learned that education cannot be run like a business (which always has a profit motive), neither can the Federal government. For that matter, no government should be run like a business.

A lawyer phones the governor’s mansion shortly after midnight. “I need to talk to the governor, it’s an emergency!” exclaims the lawyer.

The governor’s assistant wakes the governor and hands him the phone. “So, what is it that’s so important that it can’t wait until morning?” grumbles the governor.

“Judge Pierson just died, and I want to take his place,” begs the attorney.

“Well, it’s okay with me if it’s okay with the undertaker,” replies the governor.

❆❆Yep, It Really Happened❆❆
*------- Cleanliness is Next to Sexiness -------*

A mother was arrested after having sex with students at her daughter's party. The Florida mother is facing seven different charges after providing alcohol to minors and having sex with five boys at her daughter's party. Police said that 40-year-old Jaimie Ayer returned to her home to find that her daughter was throwing a party for her friends. Ayer began socializing with the teens and provided them with alcohol, police said. She then told one teenager that she needed to shower and she invited him to "come to help her," police said. Classic. She then had sex with five boys. Three of the boys are 16 and two are 17. Police began an investigation after receiving a tip after the wild party. Although the sex acts were consensual, the boys are underage and therefore, Ayer was arrested on charges of unlawful sexual activity. The mother is being held on $22,000 bail.

❆❆Somewhat Useless Information❆❆
The two circular drawings on the reverse of the bill are actually parts of the two-sided Great Seal of the United States. Although we don't see the entire seal outside of our wallets too often, the notion of having a great seal is actually as old as the country itself. The Continental Congress passed a resolution on July 4, 1776, to create a committee to design a great seal for the fledgling nation.

The obverse picturing the eagle is a bit easier to explain. The bird holds 13 arrows to show the nation's strength in war, but it also grasps an olive branch with 13 leaves and 13 olives that symbolize the importance of peace. (The recurring number 13, which also appears in the stripes on the eagle's shield and the constellation of stars over its head, is a nod to the original 13 states.)

The symbolism of the pyramid on the seal's reverse is trickier. The pyramid has 13 steps the designers apparently never got tired of the 13 motif and the Roman numeral for 1776 is emblazoned across the bottom. The all-seeing Eye of Providence at the top of the pyramid symbolizes the divine help the early Americans needed in establishing the new country. The pyramid itself symbolizes strength and durability.

The Latin motto Annuit Ceptis appears over the pyramid; it translates into "He [God] has favored our undertaking." The scroll underneath the pyramid reads Novus Ordo Seclorum, or "A new order of the ages," which was meant to signify the dawn of the new American era.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
