My Thoughts for the day

Another nice sunny day, hard to believe it is December.

As expected, the Cardinals lost to the Falcons. Not expected was the Broncos loss to Jacksonville. There is lots of finger pointing on that game, but the Broncos are still in the playoffs.

Trump keeps saying gas is less than $2/gal. in two states. He is correct…the State of Denial and the State of Confusion. The cheapest in Flag is at Sam’s where Regular gas is $3.09.  I’m tired of the exaggerations and lies.

The US is actively pursuing a 3rd vessel in the Caribbean. It sure looks like Trump wants a war.  This is getting very dicey. I hope we are not in an armed conflict during this holiday season.

Classic songs that unlock deep nostaligia…

“My Way” resonates with personal pride and reflective independence.

Confidence hums under every line of “My Way,” but so does vulnerability. The orchestrated build mimics the arc of a full life, measured and unapologetic.

For many listeners nearing retirement or navigating late-career decisions, it framed self-worth with defiant clarity. In dim banquet halls or front porches at dusk, verses flickered like old film reels, capturing both the pride and solitude of shaping life on one’s own terms.

Cities that changed their names…

Benares → Varanasi (India)

For Hindus, Varanasi is sacred ground — the city of Shiva, where life and death meet on the banks of the Ganges. Under British rule, it was called Benares, a colonial version that never quite fit its spiritual rhythm. After independence, India restored “Varanasi,” derived from the rivers Varuna and Assi that frame the city.
Pilgrims bathe, chant, and light lamps on the ghats each dawn, speaking a name that now feels whole again… One syllable at a time.

Random Thoughts…

A true friend accepts all of your faults and collects the scattered parts of your heart.

Not everyone you meet is a friend, so be cautious about who you put your faith in. Someone may take advantage of your kindness.

Always be a friend who is ready to provide a helping hand in a disaster. When everything is going well, it’s easy to be a nice friend.
