My Rambling Thoughts
Had
a good lunch with our retirement group that lasted longer than expected, but
enjoyed the time.
Will
Wednesday ever get here? As if that is going to make a difference for the
media. Already people in the Congress are already saying that they will start
impeachment hearings as soon as they get back in session. OMG…get a life. I am
afraid that this may be the new normal. So sad.

A
defendant was on trial for murder. There was strong evidence indicating guilt,
but there was no corpse. In the defense's closing statement the lawyer, knowing
that his client would probably be convicted, resorted to a trick. "Ladies
and gentlemen of the jury, I have a surprise for you all," the lawyer said
as he looked at his watch.
"Within one minute, the person presumed dead in this case will walk into
this courtroom." He looked toward the courtroom door. The jurors, somewhat
stunned, all looked on eagerly. A minute passed. Nothing happened. Finally the lawyer
said, "Actually, I made up the previous statement. But you all looked on
with anticipation. I therefore put to you that you have a reasonable doubt in
this case as to whether anyone was killed and insist that you return a verdict
of not guilty."
The jury, clearly confused, retired to deliberate. A few minutes later, the
jury returned and pronounced a verdict of guilty.
"But
how?" inquired the lawyer. "You must have had some doubt, I saw all
of you stare at the door."
The jury foreman replied, "Oh, we did look, but your client didn't."

A
British Airways pilot has been suspended after photos on Facebook, show him
with his pants down and performing sex acts while flying. Captain Colin Glover,
51, of Dublin, Ireland, has been suspended despite denying the allegations.
Glover said that the person in the photos is not him. One photo shows the pilot
naked from the waist down. His legs were resting on the airplane's controls and
he appeared to be pleasuring himself. Because where else are you going to put
your feet? The pilot was also wearing women's stockings. Another photo shows
the pilot looking at photos of naked women while performing sex acts on
himself. The photos of the naked women obstructed the view of the dashboard.
Two different serial numbers are visible in the photos, suggesting that the
images were taken on two separate flights. A spokesperson for British Airways
said that the allegations against Glover are extremely serious and therefore,
he was suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. Only one question
remains; where was the copilot during all this?

‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one
other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once
the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore
difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar
was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
