My Rambling Thoughts
It
has been a busy few days. On Wed. I met with H&R Block about the crazy tax
bill from California. Not a great meeting…they wanted me to write a letter to
CA…nope, that’s what I pay you for. They wrote the letter and I sent it priority
mail to the POBox. It should be there this afternoon. Then I asked how long I
should wait for a reply. The guy said I’d keep calling every week until you
hear from them. Crazy. Every time I call
there is a 3 hr waiting time, and when you punch call me back the message says
we will call you back in more than 3hours. Of course they never call. The scary
part is that it says if I don’t pay the full bill by Oct 30, they will start
collection procedures including taking my wages and turning it over to a credit
collection agency. Hmmm. I know it is all a threat that they won’t do, but it
is nerve wracking.
Yesterday
we had our weekly luncheon group to catch up on ‘stuff’. It was a good lunch
that actually lasted a couple of hours. Heard some great stories and told some
of my own. I led to me getting home in the late afternoon and I was too lazy to
sit at the computer.

Brain Teasers
(answers

I Bring Serenity
Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a
question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a
requirement.
It's
true I bring serenity,
And hang around the stars,
But yet I live in misery,
You'll find me behind bars.
With thieves and villains I consort,
In prison I'll be found,
But I would never go to court,
Unless there's more than one.

Life
After Death
"Do
you believe in life after death?" the boss asked one of his employees.
"Yes, sir," the clerk replied.
"That's good," the boss said. "After you left early yesterday to
go to your grandmother's funeral, she stopped in to see you."

My
Grades Are Wet
A
high-school student came home from school seeming rather depressed.
“What’s the matter son?” asked his mother.
“Aw, gee,” said the boy, “it’s my marks. They’re all wet.”
“What do you mean, 'all wet'?” she asks.
“I mean,” he replied, “well below C-level.”

Yep, It Really Happened
* British man solves 'world's smallest Rubik's cube' with tweezers *
IPSWITCH, England - A British puzzle enthusiast shared video of his successful
attempt to solve what he bills as the "world's smallest Rubik's
cube." Tony Fisher, who holds the Guinness World Record for largest
Rubik's cube after building a puzzle measuring more than 5 feet tall, created a
Rubik's cube measuring only .22 inches on each side. Fisher said he couldn't
get a 3D printer to make the puzzle small enough, so he filed down a cube that
started at .24 inches on each side. The video shows Fisher solving the puzzle
using tweezers and a magnifying glass.

Fanta
During
a trade embargo between the United States and Nazi Germany, Coca-Cola
Deutschland factory director Max Keith challenged his team to use their

Travolta
You
would probably recognize Ellen Travolta best from "Happy Days" and
"Joanie Loves Chachi" where she played Louisa Arcola, Chachi Arcola's
mother. However, she did have one on-screen appearance in the movie
"Grease" with her younger brother, John. In it, Ellen plays a diner
waitress with one line saying, "Oh, there's Danny and Sandy," while
watching the couple dance on TV. We think that's just
a-doo-wop-da-doo-bee-dorable! Source: The New York Daily News

‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one

once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore
difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar
was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
