My Rambling
Thoughts
So yesterday was busy. Got a haircut after lunch with our retirement
group. Did some other quick shopping. Lunch was delayed about 30 minutes as
Mary had an appointment. Today is much less busy and enjoying a cloudy day with
the hope of rain.
Turned on the news to see all the crazies yelling and screaming about an
FBI investigation. Without knowing much of anything the crazies are screaming ‘see
we told you’, ‘now maybe you will believe us’. Come on. Let’s get some facts from
the FBI before we jump into the abyss. On the other side, this may turn out to
be a reason not to vote early.
I am reminded to the new idea of email, while working on the Rez way
back in the day. At first we could not conduct any BIA business with email. The
after a couple of years we all got passwords to use on our computers that would
allow us to use email within the system. It was a great password, and I am
still using variations of it on my important accounts. Then the BIA sent
business people to many trainings so that government financial business could
be done on computers. Then, in another area of the BIA, someone hacked into the
server that kept track of funding due to individuals and tribes that were to
receive mineral rights money. Overnight we were all stopped from doing any BIA
business on computers. It took almost 3 years before we could resume using
computers for business. Even though I served as a principal at various schools
for almost 7 years, I was never granted access to the payroll of my employees.
This always seemed odd, since I was responsible for verifying timesheets for every
employee at the schools I worked. If there had ever been a problem with paying
employees, I would have been notified, but without authorization to the data, I
would not have been held responsible. Crazy. Final conclusion, few in the
government want to see innovation and when it comes, few are ready for it, and
mistakes with great implications will happen and 99.9% are done without malice.
One violation I do wish would happen…that WikiLeaks would release
information from the RNC. It’s called tit for tat.

2 jokes for the
day
John and Nancy were married for 40 years and decided they wanted to
renew their vows and planned a second wedding.
They were discussing the details with their friends. Nancy wasn't going to wear
a traditional bridal gown and she started describing the dress she was planning
to wear. One of her friends asked what color shoes she had to go with the
dress.
Nancy replied, "Silver."
At that point, her husband chimed in, "Yep, silver...to match her
hair."
Shooting a glaring look at John's bald spot, Nancy's friend said, "So,
John, I guess you are going barefoot then."

You Don't Have To Go Home But You Can't Stay Here
A bar employee was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly
shooting a customer who refused to leave, according to police in Tennessee.
Nashville police said that they have arrested the bar employee, who was not
identified, for using his gun to shoot the customer after closing time.
According to the criminal complaint, police officers were called to the Kat's
Bar and Grille around 1:00 a.m. on Friday, on a report of a dispute. Witnesses
at the scene told police that the dispute broke out when the customer refused
to leave following closing time. The employee pulled out his gun and fired a
shot. The bullet grazed the client's face. The employee left the scene before
police arrived. Officers went to his home, where he was arrested.

Information
- Gold is the sixteenth rarest of the chemical elements. Though it is one of the rarest metals, gold was the first to be discovered by man.
- Mercury, which becomes solid at -40 degrees F, is the only metal that is liquid at room temperature.
- The rare metal gallium melts at 86 degrees F. It is safe to touch. If you hold a piece of it in your hand and wait, your body heat will melt it.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually
checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site
contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites
simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring
before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally
accurate.
