My Rambling Thoughts
Cloudy and trying really hard to rain. Still nice outside.
Ran some errands and got blinds for my front window and curtains for the deck window. I have had vertical blinds on the deck window and hated them since I moved in. This will be better.

Brain Teasers
(answers at the end of post)
I have two arms and a back,
Supported by four legs.
But there is something I do lack,
Actually, I have no eyes to see.

I also cannot move around,
Or at least, not on my own.
Unfortunately I can make no sound,
Except perhaps a squeak.

If you chop off my head,
You are left with a hair.
If you chop off my tail,
Only tea is left there.

One more clue I will add,
Is that you often use me.
Yet you barely ever notice,
In fact I'd much rather be a tree.

What am I?

17. In Egypt:
In Egypt, it's seen as very bad luck to open and close a pair of scissors without cutting anything. What's even worse is leaving them open! It's said that you're cutting evil spirits that linger in the air, and they'll get mad (via Someday I'll Be There)

2 jokes for the day
A patient tell his therapist: “I feel awful. I feel like a spoon all the time.”
The therapist says: “sit still and don’t stir.”

A man walks out of a bar totally hammered, only to be greeted by a snobby woman.
She takes one look at him. “You sir are drunk!"
"And you ma'am, are ugly. But when I wake up, I will be sober!"

Yep, It Really Happened
Mercer Island Reporter - Two suburban Minneapolis elementary schools this fall hired a consulting firm to advise officials on kids' recess, and the leading recommendations (promoting "safety" and "inclusiveness") were elimination of "contact" games in favor of, for example, hopscotch. Some parents objected; recess, they said, should be more freestyle, unstructured.
More consultants' advice: De-emphasize refereed "rules" games in favor of monitors who simply praise effort. One Minnesota principal noted improvement -- fewer fights and nurse visits now -- but as one parent said, her child feels that recess is no longer really "playing."
Somewhat Useless Information
Female elephants undergo a 22 month pregnancy, which is the longest gestation period of any mammal.

The closest living, land-based relative to the elephant is the rock hyrax. These small, furry mammals can be found in sub-Saharan Africa and along the Arabian Peninsula.

Elephants can get sunburned and throw sand on their backs and head to protect themselves.

One study found that elephants avoided eating a certain tree that's home to ants. The study suggests that elephants want to avoid getting ants inside their trunks.

Asian elephants don't run. It doesn't mean they're lazy - running requires lifting all four feet at once, and Asian elephants were found to keep at least two feet on the ground at all times.

Contrary to your favorite elephant cartoon character, these animals aren't fond of peanuts. They don't eat them in the wild and aren't fed them in captivity.

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
