My Rambling Thoughts
Beautiful day…warm…not a cloud in the sky. Read the Sunday paper on the deck.
While watching the Sunday news shows, I had an epiphany…sort of. Many in the US wonder why moderate Muslims don’t speak out against the radicals in their religion. Some believe that because they don’t speak up, the moderates must agree with the radicals. I don’t personally believe that, but just saying many do. Now moving to the US, we have Donald Trump. He speaks out about many things that Americans are concerned about but doesn’t seem to have any real solutions. Many see him as a radical in the Republican party…if not to the entire election process. Many are starting to ask why the moderate GOP is not speaking out against him. Now many are starting to say that they don’t speak out because they agree with him. I don’t agree with that position either, but it is very interesting to me that so many on the right are overly concerned about Muslims and find it easy to lump them all together as radicals. Carson even said today that the US can never have a Muslim President. I do wish that more GOP would see that Trump is just playing to unsubstantiated fear.

Brain Teasers
(answers at the end of post)
One day, Bob and Hannah were sitting out on their deck, sipping on some drinks. Bob ran into the house, got an empty two-liter bottle from the freezer and a quarter, and returned to the deck.

"I bet you money that this quarter will move with nobody touching it."

Hannah thought this was a sure win, however, she lost. When Bob placed the quarter on the mouth of the bottle, the quarter began jumping on one side and making popping sounds.

How did Hannah lose?

3. The more ice, the better.
Iced coffee! Soda filled with ice to the brim! We love it all. But other people around the world aren't big fans of our beloved cold cubes. Not only do they believe that they just water down your drink, but they also think they're dirty.

A. They had a little BB!

Three college professors were driving down the highway at a very slow speed.
A policeman pulled them over and explained that driving so slowly on the highway could be hazardous.
The driver pointed out the sign that read "20." He explained that he was going 20 mph because of the sign.
The policeman pointed out that the sign indicated they were driving on Highway 20.
Somewhat embarrassed the professor apologized and promised to be more observant.
As the policeman turn to walk back to his car, he noticed the other two professors on the floor ...looking scared to death!

He asked the driver, "What's wrong with them?"
The driver replied, "We just turned off Highway 105."

Yep, It Really Happened
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Police in Ohio's capital said thieves broke into a Verizon store, but the only items they managed to steal were fake phones used as display pieces. Columbus police said the early Wednesday burglary at the store caused significant damage to the store, but the only items stolen were fake phones installed for display after the store was previously targeted by thieves. Police said the culprits used large rocks to break the glass back door of the shop and they cut or ripped the phony cellphones from display areas. Investigators said the store's real phones are locked in a vault by employees every night.

Somewhat Useless Information
Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda into your palm along with your favorite shampoo. Shampoo as usual and rinse thoroughly. Baking soda helps remove the residue that styling products leave behind so your hair is cleaner and more manageable.

For lustrous hair with more shine, keep brushes and combs clean. Remove natural oil build-up and hair product residue by soaking combs and brushes in a solution of 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a small basin of warm water. Rinse and allow
to dry.

The simplest and one of the most effective ways to clean your fruits and veggies is to use baking soda. Mix 1 tablespoon baking soda to 1 cup water (or more if you’re cleaning a lot of apples, strawberries and other yummies) and use it as a scrub. You can also soak the fruits and veggies in a mix of water, vinegar and baking soda rather than scrubbing them.

Brain Teasers Answers
As the bottle had previously been in the freezer, the cool air inside expanded when placed in a warmer temperature and escaped through the only out, or the mouth. However, while the quarter was blocking this passage way, the cool air could not leave. Therefore, the expanding cold air moved the quarter enough so a little cool air could come out of the bottle. The popping sounds were from the quarter landing back on the bottle.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.

And That Is All for Now
