My Rambling Thoughts
A little windy here, but there is no sand in the air, so I am fine. Reading the Sunday paper on the deck was very nice this morning, the deck was somehow blocked from the wind.

So tired of the news cycle on the president’s tweets. If the media quits reporting on them, he will quite doing them. It is how one deals with a bully. Secondly, when will his supporters wake up and realize his tweets are simply a distraction form the business of government. It is time for a new beginning.

Yep, It Really Happened
*-- Crash Releases 30 Snakes on Highway --*

Authorities in Texas said a van crashed on the highway in the San Antonio area and released 30 snakes, a baby alligator and a tortoise. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said the van blew a tire causing it to rollover onto the access road. The Somerset Volunteer Fire Department said the animals released in the crash include venomous rattlesnakes, copperhead snakes, a large diamondback rattlesnake and water moccasins. Lytle Animal Control and Texas Game Warden officials responded to the scene to recapture the escaped reptiles. The most recent update said 23 of the snakes had been recaptured, with one snake dead and the alligator still on the loose. The driver of the van and a 9-year-old passenger were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center. The animals and vehicle involved in the crash are privately owned, the sheriff's office said.

The ancient Greeks were the first to wear girdles. They called them zones. A band of linen or soft leather was bound around a woman's waist and lower torso to shape and control her mid-body.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The Republican party held its first convention in Philadelphia - birthplace of the U.S. Constitution - in 1856. The Grand Old Party of that time was largely made up of abolitionists who were passionate about freedom and equal opportunity, and bringing about the end of slavery was one of their chief priorities. The GOP was first formally organized in July 1854 in Jackson, Michigan, just two years before holding its debut convention. Source: GOP official website

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
