❆❆My
Rambling Thoughts❆❆
Our
SE Asia trip continued to Thailand. Found that ginger helps with any queasy
feeling one gets in rough seas. Thanks to Ann for helping out.
Thailand
is still in mourning over the loss of its King. That means that dark clothing
is the order of the day while in Thailand. White was also considered
acceptable, but my wardrobe contained no white clothes, except for athletic
socks. It was warm in Thailand—low 90’s with near 100% humidity that made dark
clothes less than smart to stay cool. We visited temples, removed our shoes,
and saw fantastic Buddha statues and beautiful art. The Thai people are very nice
and treated us very well. Thailand, formerly Siam, is a 3rd world
country with many poor. Bangkok is very crowded and traffic moved in crazy
directions. We went on a good excursion where we saw a monkey climb a tree and
bring down coconuts and I got a picture of the monkey sitting on my shoulder.
The Grand Palace has to be the most crowded place we went to. It was
magnificent as advertised. Since the King’s casket is still on display in the
palace, the crowds were stifling. At one point there was a line of several
hundred local people waiting to get into the room to see the casket. All were
dressed in total black…remember, it was very hot and humid. Nurses were walking
all along the line passing out water and checking to make sure no people were
in distress. That line must have taken well over an hour to get inside, out of
the heat. Had a great time with the Focus/Tumlare group, but was glad to get
back to the ship for some cold water and air conditioning. Next it is off to Cambodia!

❆❆ Joke
For The Day❆❆
A
man went to his doctor to go over his blood work results. As soon as he entered
the doctor's office, the doctor said to him, "I just looked at your
results. You are lucky that you come to see me early enough..."
The man became very nervous and asked, "What's wrong with my blood
work?"
"Oh nothing! Just that I'll be leaving my office early today,"
replied the doctor.

Good Call ------------------*
A Texas man whose life sentence on drug charges was commuted by former
President Obama is back behind bars after cops caught him with more than two
pounds of cocaine following a high-speed chase, according to a report. Robert
M. Gill, 68, had been imprisoned in 1990 for for cocaine and heroin
distribution before Obama set him free along with other non-violent federal
inmates in 2015. Last Thursday, according to federal court papers, Gill met
with his probation officers and then went to the parking lot of a food market
to buy more than 2 pounds of cocaine, and a sheriff's deputy in an unmarked car
tried to stop him, the affidavit said. But Gill took off and after a high-speed
chase collided with another vehicle where deputies were able to disable his
car. Officers found the cocaine in the backpack and put him under arrest, the
affidavit said. In signing his release, Obama said he did so "because you
have demonstrated the potential to turn your life around. Now it is up to you
to make the most of this opportunity." He faces a return to prison for up
to 40 years, if convicted.

❆❆Somewhat

The
Albumen We all have that friend who orders "just the egg white" but
what she actually means is "only the albumen." The albumen, which
doesn't sound nearly as appealing as egg white, contains half of the egg's
total protein and none of its fat. Isn't that eggcellent?! Source: The

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with
at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes
and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is
therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian
calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
