My Rambling Thoughts
Beautiful day…downstairs windows all clean.
Sunday news shows kept getting interrupted by ‘breaking news’ as the Pope was a busy pontiff today. Breaking News-Pope leaves overnight residence to head for ‘x’ then after about 10 minutes, back to regular programing. Then Pope arrives at ‘x’. Anyway, did hear a few good stories. One was an interview with the President of Iraq. When asked what his country thought of the Republican response to the Nuclear deal. He said that the Republicans hadn’t read the deal that was an International deal put together by numerous countries. He went on to say that most of his countrymen found the US debate good entertainment and hilarious.
Good day all around.
Cards had a nice win and Broncos are on TV tonight. Nice!

…Amazing Facts…
Scientists are working on a portable spray-on-skin that can heal severe wounds in just a few minutes. The spray mainly contains important proteins that can reprogram the injured cells to become stem cells, and back to young uniformed skin cells. So far they were able to accelerate healing process from 12 weeks to 21 days with a similar approach.

…Strange Superstitions from Around the World…
1. In Spain:
People in Spain believe that Tuesday the 13th and not Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. Tuesday, which is "Martes" in Spanish, is derived from mars, which in the Middle Ages was called "little evil" (via Europe's Not Dead)

…Unusual Fact of the Day…
It is much less likely for a woman to be red-green colorblind than a man. This is because in order for a woman to be red-green colorblind, both of her X chromosomes would have to be affected. Because a man only has one X chromosome, he is more likely to be colorblind.

2 jokes for the day
Did you hear about the classical pianist who was not a good speller?

When she went out to buy something she left a sign on her door that said: "Out Chopin. Be Bach in a minuet"

The fellow walked into a bar he had never been in before and ordered a drink.
He then asked the bartender if he enjoyed dumb-jock jokes.
The beefy attendant leaned over the bar and fixed a withering glare on his customer.
"Listen, buddy," he growled. "See those two big guys on the left? They're professional football players. And that huge fellow on your right is a world-class wrestler. That guy in the corner is a champion weight-lifter. And I lettered in three sports at Notre Dame. Now," he continued, "are you absolutely positive you want to go ahead and tell your dumb-jock joke here?"
"Nah, I guess not," the man replied. "I wouldn't want to have to explain it five times."

Yep, It Really Happened
BALTIMORE - A Delta plane was grounded overnight in Baltimore when a tarantula escaped from its container in the cargo hold and was spotted by baggage handlers. Delta spokesman Brian Kruse said Atlanta-bound Flight 1525 was scheduled to take off from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport at 7 p.m. Wednesday, but the pilot decided to ground the plane after baggage handlers discovered the loose arachnid in the cargo hold. Kruse said the pilot wanted to ensure the baboon tarantula was the only one loose on the plane. "They were able to capture it, and they contacted the handler" to ensure there hadn't been any other tarantulas in the same cage, Kruse told the Baltimore Sun. "We have to make the safe decision on that -- being bitten by a tarantula is not a good thing," CNN quoted the pilot as saying. The passengers were moved to another aircraft, which departed about three hours behind schedule. A passenger told WRDW-TV a flight crew member told him there were a total 750 tarantulas on board the plane and most of them had gotten loose, but Kruse said only the one spider was ever free and it never left the cargo hold.

Somewhat Useless Information
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, "Happy Birthday to You" is the most-recognized and popular song in the English language, followed by "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow".

"Happy Birthday to You" is has been translated into at least 18 different languages, including Arabic, Basque, Catalan, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Korean, Lithuanian, Mandarin Chinese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Tagalog.

The most famous rendition of "Happy Birthday to You" may have been by Marilyn Monroe, who steamily sung the song to President John F. Kennedy for this forty-fifth birthday in 1962. It was one of the last public appearances by Monroe before her death.

The song "Happy Birthday to You" dates back to 1893, but was originally called "Good Morning to You" and was written by two sisters living in Kentucky, Mildred and Patti Smith Hill. The melody to "Good Morning" is the same melody we use today, but its copyright expired in 1949.

On August 31st of this year, a librarian at the University of Louisville's Dwight Anderson Memorial Music Library discovered the oldest known manuscript of the song. The "Good Morning to You" sheet music was part of a songbook titled, "Song Stories for the Kindergarten," donated to the library in the 1950s. It was discovered by the librarian, James Procell, while digging through a dusty filing cabinet.

It is estimated that Warner/Chappell drew $2 million in annual earnings from "Happy Birthday to You," largely from visual productions like films and TV shows and public performances (like concerts).

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.

And That Is All for Now
