My Rambling Thoughts

Our retirement group had a great lunch @ our favorite, newly remodeled Mexican restaurant. Nice décor, same great food. Mary had a great weekend in Phx with her all her grandchildren and their families. Great time. Cheryl enjoyed her stay in CA with her son, his wife, and the grandkids. Nice!

Beautiful, warm fall-ish day @ 7000’. Can’t complain. Started the day off with computer issues but got them fixed in about an hour. The tech company was busy updating their system when I called, but they called back when it was finished and had the issue fixed in mere minutes.

Busy day today. Headed out early and got a much needed toenail clipping, then to Sam’s for my weekly pickup of needed items, then to Fry’s Grocery for Old People’s Day…we get 10% off everything we buy on the 1^st Wed. of each month. Good way to stalk up on staples and save in the process. And they also have sales for the younger people and give us old geezers 10% off the sale price. Cool.

A woman was getting swamped with calls from strangers. A billing service had launched an 800 number that was identical to hers.

The company refused, so she said, "Fine. From now on, I'm going to tell everyone who calls that their bill is paid in full."

The company got a new number the next day.

Authorities in California said an amateur fisherman cast his homemade line in the wrong place when he was caught fishing for drugs in a police drop box. The Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office said a sergeant confronted a man spotted using a homemade cord and fishing hook to remove drugs from the Operation Medicine Cabinet drop box in front of the sheriff's Coastal Station in Carpinteria. Christian Kulbe, 46, had successfully reeled in some drugs and syringes when he was caught fishing in the drop box, one of several set up by the sheriff's office and the Santa Barbara County Public Works to allow residents to safely dispose of unused drugs and medications. Kulbe was taken to the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges including possession of stolen property, petty theft, possession of burglary tools, prowling and possession of controlled substances. He was ordered held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
